Abstract:Objective To study the expression of prosaposin (PSAP)and its receptor G-protein coupled receptor (GPR)37 in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC),and its relationship with clinical characteristics of OSCC.Methods The expressions of PSAP and GPR37 were observed in 41 samples of oral squamous cell carcinoma by immunohistochemistry. The location of PSAP and GPR37 was determined by immunofluorescence with the antibodies of CD68,PSAP and GPR37.Based on the clinical data, the clinical pathological features were statistically analyzed. Results The expression of PSAP and GPR37 was higher in the OSCC than in normal oral mucosa(P < 0.05),and the expression of PSAP was closely related to tumor stage and lymph-node metastasis, but GPR37 was not.PSAP rather than GPR37 was strongly expressed in the macrophage cells,as the immunofluorescence results showed. Conclusion The expression of PSAP and its receptor GPR37 increases in the OSCC,which may be associated with the development of squamous cell carcinoma.
