Abstract:SIRT1,a histone deacetylase which belongs to the sirtuin family,is expressed in most human cells. SIRT1 plays a vital role in glucolipid metabolism and aging. There are emerging results indicating that SIRT1 can inhibit the in-flammatory responses via suppressing several signaling pathways. In this review we outline recent research advances on the biological characteristics of SIRT1,its anti-inflammatory effects and its inhibition to downstream signaling pathway.
