Autotransplantation of teeth:the surgery and the periop-erative treatments

Abstract：Autotransplantation of teeth could be a prefer-able treatment for many patients with appropriate indications. Good tooth-transplant surgery and perioperative management would achieve a success rate of more than 90%. The key points of the teeth autotransplantation include atraumatic ex-traction of the teeth, minimally invasive preparation of alveo-lar socket, and proper implantation of the donor tooth. Further-more,the operator should also make a cautious preoperative examination and preparation. And postoperative treatments, in-cluding a suitable fixation of tooth crown and a reasonable handling of root canal, would be important as well to ensure the periodontal ligament healing and long-term function main-taining of the transplanted teeth.
