Pain control and sedation in pediatric dentistry

Abstract：Now days,dentists and patients pay more and more attention on pain control and sedation,especially in pedi-atric dentistry. But there are some misunderstandings,such as exaggerating the effect of pharmacological methods and ignor- ing basic behavior management techniques. In this article,we reviewed related literatures in combination with our clinic ex-periences. The necessity of pain control and sedation,related concepts and common methods were introduced,which may be helpful to dentists,especially pediatric dentists.
