Precise diagnosis and treatment of recurrent ovarian cancer

Abstract：Ovarian cancer patients were divided into platinum-resistant recurrence(6 months from the end of platinum-based chemotherapy)and platinum-sensitive recurrence(≥ 6 months from the end of platinum-based chemotherapy)according to the time between the time of recurrence and the end of plati-num-based chemotherapy.Among them,recurrence at 6-12 months after the end of platinum-based che-motherapy is also called partial platinum-sensitive recurrence,and ≥ 12-month recurrence is called complete platinum-sensitive recurrence.Patients with recurrent ovarian cancer have different types of re-currence,previous treatments,current physical con-ditions,and socioeconomic conditions,so the"one-size-fits-all"treatment model cannot effectively solve the clinical problems of recurrent ovarian cancer.Only through precise diagnosis and treatment of relapsed patients and the combination with the specific char-acteristics of each patient can a satisfactory individu-alized treatment be achieved.This article describes the precise diagnosis and treatment strategies of recurrent ovarian cancer,focusing on the"three determinations"diagnostic principles(qualitativeness,localization,and stereotyping),the grasp of treatment timing,the evaluation of surgical indications,the individualized selection of chemotherapy regimens,the strategies of maintenance therapy,and the application of targeted therapy and new drugs.In the treatment of recurrent ovarian cancer,it is emphasized that the patient's tumor characteristics,response to previous treatment,physical condition and personal preference should be considered comprehensively to achieve individualized treatment and optimal efficacy.
