Clinical study on 40 cases of pregnancy complicated with pancreatitis

Abstract:Objective To explore pregnant outcomes by different causes of acute pancreatitis in pregnancy.Methods Forty patients who were diagnosed with APIP were retrospectively analyzed who were admitted to the Third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University from 2003 to 2015.The clinical records of the patients with APIP were reviewed for clinical features,laboratory examinations,and maternal and perinatal prognosis.Results Among the 40 patients,there were no maternal mortality,16 cases of mild acute pancreatitis (40%),15 case of moderately severe acute pancreatitis (37.5%)and nine cases of severe acute pancreatitis (22.5%).There was one case of stillbirth in 9 (22.5%) cases of biliary acute pancreatitis,and three cases of stillbirth in 9 (22.5%)cases of acute hyperlipidemic pancreatitis;there was one case of stillbirth in 21 (52.5%)cases of idiopathic acute pancreatitis,and preterm delivery occurred in 1 (2.5%) mixed case because of premature rupture of membranes.Conclusion The incidence of APIP is low but it is associated with increased incidence of maternal and fetal mortality.Early diagnosis and multidisciplinary collaboration can significantly improve the maternal and fetal outcomes.
