Abstract:Pelvic organ prolapse quantification system has limitations of direct assessment of surgical anatomy, but magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can clarify a diagnosis of pelvic organ prolapse.Static images are mainly used to observe the defects of pelvic sling.Dynamic images are used to evaluate the grade of pelvic organ prolapse. It helps to determine appropriate surgical procedure. However, there is no uniform standard for the diagnosis of POP degree in MRI,and the correlation coefficients between different diagnostic criteria and clinical examination are different.Although MRI is an important diagnostic resource of pelvic floor dysfunction,it cannot replace clinical examination completely.
