Effects of precaution management and maternal emergency aid and referral system at the critical stage in Chongqing

Abstract：Objective To improve the efficacy of maternal emergency aid and decrease the maternal mortality rate at the critical stage in Chongqing.Methods To set up precaution management and maternal emergency aid and referral system in Chongqing,and evaluate the effects of this system from Jan.2015 to Dec.2016.Results Five emergency aid and referral centers were established and each one was appointed to be responsible for definite areas.The survival rate for critical mothers reached 99.83％.Five centers had received 3028 cases of maternal referral in recent two years,which greatly relieved the pressure of referral and consultation of maternity hospitals at grassroots.The obstetric quality of maternity hospitals in grassroots were improved and the safety of mothers and children were guaranteed.Conclusion Precaution management and maternal emergency aid and referral system is beneficial to the safe motherhood,which can decrease the maternal mortality and is worth spreading.
