The impacts of cervical conization for pregnancy and the delivery route
Abstract:Cervical conization may lead to cervical stenosis and cervical incompetence. No evidence of secondary infertility caused by cervical conization was found. Though it is unclear whether cervical conization increase the subsequent risk of abortion, preterm delivery, premature rupture of membranes, low birth weight; more study show that conization increases risk of adverse obstetric outcomes. Mode and depth of conization and procedure-to-pregnancy interval may be important risk factors of adverse obstetric outcomes. Sonographic surveillance of cervical length may be a predictor of preterm delivery. No evidence show that rate of C-section is increased after cervical conization.
