Expression of hemoglobin-alpha(Hb-α) ,hemoglobin-beta(Hb-β) in serum of ovarian cancer patients.

Abstract：Objective To investigate the hemoglobin-alpha(Hb-α) ,hemoglobin-beta(Hb-β) differential expression in serum of ovarian cancer. Methods Between October 2007 and April 2008 Twenty-one ovarian carcinoma(OC) patients (21 serum of preoperative, 10 serum of pastoperative),30 ovarian optimum tumor(OOT) patients,20 normal control (NE) in the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University entered this study. Hb-αand Hb-βconcentration of serum was examined by ELISA. Results Hb-αand Hb-βconeentration in OC group was higher than that in NE group and OOC group( P<0.05 ). There were no significant differences in NE group and OOC group. There were no significant differences in the ten ovarian cancer patients preoperative serum and their pastoperative ones( P>0. 05 ). Conclusion Ovarian cancer is relative to Hb-αand Hb-β. Operation has no effect for the Hb-αand Hb-βserum concentration of ovarian cancer.
