Observation on clinical effects of uterine cavity shaped device Cu300 in 5 years
Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical effects of uterine cavity shaped device Cu300(UCD Cu300)in 5 years.Methods 600 rural healthy women were randomized into three groups,UCD Cu300 and two control groups(TCu380A and TCu220c),each having 200 cases.Follow-up visits were performed every year until the 60th month after insertion.Results The 5-year follow-up results showed that pregnancy rate in the 5th year was 6.96,9.19 and 8.05 per 100 women,respectively,in these three groups.The difference between the three groups indicated nonstatistical significance.The expulsion rate was 3.68,14.72 and 5.84,respectively.TCu380A was significantly higher than UCD Cu300 and TCu220c(P＜0.001).The rates of removal due to bleeding and pain were 4.48,3.59and 6.29 per 100 women,respectively,no statistical difference was shown.The cumulative continuation of UCD Cu300,TCu380A and TCu220c were 80.50,71.50 and 77.50 per 100 women at the 60th month,UCD Cu300 was the highest,but with no statistical significance.Conclusion UCD Cu300 is effective for contraception.It is worthy of wide spreading in rural areas.
