Epidemiological trend and features of sepsis in children

Abstract:In the third international consensus definitions for sepsis and septic shock,sepsis is defined as life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by a dysregulated host response to infection.This new definition is similar to severe sepsis in the past.This article describes the epidemiological characteristics of this disease,including etiology,underlying diseases,organ dysfunctions,prevalence and prognosis.
