The study on gallbladder emptying of neonates with asphyxia
Abstract:Objective To observe the influence of asphyxia on gallbladderemptying in neonates. Methods The lengths and the diameters before and after the gallbladder emptying were measured with B-ultrasonoscope on the asphyxia group(107 cases) and the normal group (219 cases). The approximate area values of the largest gallbladder vertical section before and after gallbladder emptying were calculated (the length times the diameter). The differences rates of gallbladder emptying were also counted. Then, all the above-mentioned values were compared statistically between the asphyxia group and the normal group. Results The differences and the emptying rates of the newborns with asphyxia were less than that of the normal newborns, while the approximate area values of the largest gallbladder vertical section were larger than that of the normal ones (P<0.01). Conclusions Asphyxia can reduce the emptying function of the gallbladder and make the gallbladder enlarge.
