A epidemiologic Study on Coxsaskievirus B Meningocephalitis infection
Abstract：Objective To investigate the epidemiologic and pathogenic characters and to study the effective way in the prevention and management of Coxsaskievirus B meningocephalitis in Rushan city from 1996 to 1998. Methods Epidemiologic investigation was conducted, viruses was isolated from feces and cerebrospinal fluid of the patients and plasma antibodies were detected in this study. The patients were randomly divided into three groups, in which the symptoms and signs,the reactions following treatment were observed. Results 22 virus strains were isolated from 50 patients feces ( CVB5 had 16 strains, CVB3 had 4, CVB1 had 1 and unknown 1 ). CVB-IgM positive food before got infected. γ-interferon was effective in controlling the disease. Conclusion This epidemic of virus menigocephalitis, which was caused by CVB, probably spread through digestive tract. And γ-interferon had good effects on it.
