Cytotoxic lesion of the splenium of corpus callosum after acute cerebral infarction:two cases report and literature review

Abstract:The splenium is the most posterior portion of the corpus callosum,it is also the most concentrated and vulnerable area of interhemispheric commissural fibers.Cytotoxic lesion of splenium of corpus callosum(SCC)are affected by a variety of factors,including infection,epilepsy,drug toxicity and metabolic disorders,etc.But cytotoxic lesions of SCC after acute cerebral infarction are relatively rare.This article reported two cases of cytotoxic lesion of SCC after acute cerebral infarction,and reviewed relevant literature to explore its imaging features and pathogenesis,aimed to improve clinicians'understanding of SCC cytotoxic lesion after acute cerebral infarction.
