Abstract:Stroke,as one of the diseases with the highest global disability rate, has long faced efficacy bottlenecks in its rehabilitation. In recent years,brain-computer interface(BCI)technology,by directly decoding motor intentions of the brain and combining neuromuscular stimulation via functional electrical stimulation(FES),has established a"brain-limb-brain"closed-loop feedback system, offering novel perspectives for precision rehabilitation. The combined application of BCI and FES provides a new paradigm for overcoming the limitations of traditional rehabilitation approaches. This article systematically re-views the technological principles, mechanisms of action, and clinical applications of BCI and FES,with a focus on analyzing their innovative role in modulating post-stroke neuroplasticity and their application in upper limb functional recovery as well as lower limb and gait rehabilitation.
