Abstract:Cavernous sinus cavernous hemangiomas(CSHs)are clinically rare, representing a type of extra-axial cav-ernous hemangioma.Their primary manifestations are mass effects, such as headache, dizziness, epilepsy, endocrine disorders, visual acuity and field impairments, ptosis, restricted eye movement, and facial paresthesia.Because their clinical symptoms re-semble those of other lesions in the cavernous sinus region, clinical diagnosis is challenging, leading to a high rate of misdiagno-sis.This article reports a case of CSH initially misdiagnosed as a pituitary adenoma, with the diagnosis later confirmed as CSH through surgery and postoperative pathology.By reviewing the literature and analyzing the clinical data and diagnostic-thera-peutic process of this case, this paper summarizes the reasons for the misdiagnosis and proposes preventive measures, aiming to reduce misdiagnosis and mismanagement and provide a reference for clinical practice.
