Abstract：Hydrocephalus,a common neurosurgical condition,often arises secondary to intracranial infections,traumatic brain injuries,intracranial tumors,and other causes,leading to cognitive impairment caused by secondary neurological damage.The precise mechanisms underlying hydrocephalus-associated cognitive dysfunction remain incompletely understood.This review focuses on recent advances in the pathogenesis,clinical manifestations,assessment of cognitive impairment,and therapeutic interventions related to hydrocephalus-induced cognitive deficits,aiming to provide references for clinical practice.
