Abstract:Giant osseous intraventricular meningiomas are exceptionally rare.We report a case of a giant osseous meningioma arising in the lateral ventricle of a 52-year-old male.Preoperative cranial MRI revealed a right trigonal mass(maximum diameter 5.2 cm)demonstrating hypointense T1-and hyperintense T2-weighted signals.Head CT scan identified a densely calcified lesion in the right trigone.Following preoperative preparation, gross total resection of the mass was performed via a right parietal transsulcal transgyral approach under general anesthesia.Intraoperatively, the lesion was found to be bony and extremely hard in consistency.Histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of a meningioma(psammomatous type,WHO grade 1)with calcification. At 3-year follow-up,the patient remains neurologically intact, fully functional, and MRI shows no evidence of tumor recurrence.
