Abstract:Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage(aSAH)is a cerebrovascular disorder with a high incidence and mortality.Previous studies have postulated that cerebral vasospasm and the resulting delayed cerebral ischemia after aSAH are the crucial factors causing patient death or disability.Nevertheless,a large number of studies have verified that early brain injury might be the primary cause of poor prognosis in aSAH.Early brain injury mainly presents as secondary brain injury occurring within 72 hours after hemorrhage and is an extremely complex pathophysiological alteration. This article conducts a review of the occurrence mechanisms of early brain injury in aSAH,in the hope of finding better therapeutic approaches and thereby improving patient prognosis.
