Abstract:Objective To summarize the surgical experience for benign tumors in the jugular foramen region. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of two patients with benign tumors in the jugular foramen region admitted between November 2021 and January 2022.Microsurgery assisted by multimodal monitoring techniques was performed, and postoperative follow-up was conducted for six months. Results Both patients were hospitalized due to hoarseness.Preoperative CT and MRI revealed space-occupying lesions in the left jugular foramen region.Total tumor resection was achieved.Postoperative pathological diagnosis identified one case of schwannoma and one case of well-differentiated chondrosarcoma(WHO grade I).Postoperatively, hoarseness significantly improved, but symptoms of drinking-induced coughing and dry cough emerged, which resolved spontaneously after six months of follow-up.Conclusion For benign tumors in the jugular foramen region, microsurgery assisted by multimodal monitoring techniques enhances surgical precision and safety, significantly improving patient prognosis.
