Abstract:The formation of subdural effusion(SDE)after decompressive craniectomy(DC)in patients with traumatic brain injury(TBI)is a common neurological disorder in clinic. If the compression of the brain tissue in the patient is not significant and the clinical symptoms are mild, conservative treatment is mainly utilized;if the patient has elevated intracranial pressure and a more pronounced space-occupying effect, surgical treatment is implemented.Currently, there are disputes regarding its pathological mechanism, selection of surgical procedures, and surgical timing. This article presents a review of the research progress on the pathogenesis, diagnosis, influencing factors, and treatment strategies of SDE after DC in TBI patients, with the aim of providing novel perspectives for clinical practice.
