Abstract:7,8-dihydroxyflavone(7,8-DHF)is a high-affinity agonist of the tyrosine kinase receptor B(TrkB),exhibiting physiological functions such as promoting neuronal development, survival, differentiation, and enhancing synaptic plasticity. This flavonoid compound demonstrates neuroprotective effects in various neurological and psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety,Alzheimer's disease,Parkinson's disease, and ischemic stroke. This review provides a systematic overview of the pharmacological mechanisms of 7,8-DHF,elucidating its key targets, the diverse effects it induces, and its mechanism of action within the body.Additionally,an in-depth analysis is conducted regarding its absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion characteristics, which establishes a theoretical basis for subsequent research and application development.Furthermore, the mechanisms underlying its neuroprotective effects in the aforementioned diseases are elaborated to reveal its potential therapeutic value and action principles. Finally, based on the current state of research, this paper discusses the prospects of 7,8-DHF in the treatment of clinical diseases and drug development, aiming to provide valuable references for future studies and facilitate its transition from basic research to clinical application.
