Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of solution focused intervention on Self-management efficacy and meanings of life in the patients with gliomas after the surgery. Methods Eighty two patients with gliomas were randomly divided into control group in which the routine nursing measures were performed and intervention group in which the solution focused intervention was performed on the basis of the routine nursing measure. The self-management efficacy and meanings of life were evaluated by cancer self-management efficacy scale and cancer patient's meaning of life scale in all the patients before and after the intervention. Results The scores of self-management efficacy[(94.04±23.70)points]and the meaning of life scale[(80.90±11.08)points]were significantly higher after the intervention respectively than those [(80.00 ± 19.98) points and (64.09 ± 12.22) points respectively] before the intervention in the intervention group (P<0.05). The scores of self-management efficacy scale [(90.04 ± 23.70) points] and meaning of life scale [(80.90 ± 11.08)points]were significantly higher in the intervention group respectively than those[(83.03±17.78)points and(68.68±11.47)points respectively]in the control group after the intervention. There were insignificant differences in the score of self-management efficacy and meaning of life scale in the control group before and after the intervention (P>0.05). Conclusion Solution focused intervention can improve the self-management efficacy and the meaning of life and promote the recovery in the patients with gliomas after the surgery.
