Abstract:Coal gasification fine slag(CGFS),as a solid waste from entrained-flow coal gasifi-cation process,is difficult to be directly utilized, and the gasification of carbon-rich fraction af-ter separation is one of the effective methods to realize large-scale utilization of CGFS.In this study, the residual carbon(RC)from CGFS was oxidized by air,CO2,H2O2 and HNO3 to improve gasification reactivity. The steam gasification reactivity of oxidized RC was studied by thermogravimetric analyzer, and the structural characteristics of oxidized RC were analyzed using N2 adsorption/desorption analyzer,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Raman spec-troscopy.The results demonstrate that compared to RC,the gasification characteristic temper-atures of oxidized RC are lower, the weight loss rates are faster, and the gasification reactivi-ties are significantly improved. The enhanced gasification performance of oxidized RC primari-ly stems from structural modification. The specific surface area and pore volume of the RC oxi-dized by air and CO2 are greatly increased, while the oxidation of H2O2 and HNO3 contributes to the significant improvement of active group proportions and amorphous carbon structures of the RC.The gasification behavior of oxidized RC is jointly determined by its structural charac-teristics.The active groups and the amorphous carbon structures mainly promote the initial stage of gasification of oxidized RC,while the pore structure mainly affects the middle stage of gasification.
