Abstract:In order to clarify the effects of ratio of radial partial air volume to pressure air volume on air curtain dust control,a scaled physical model was developed for the 2-5082 fully mechanized working face in Sanjiaohe coal mine. The airflow migration and dust diffusion were numerically simulated using FLUENT for the pressure air volume Q was from 350 to 600 m3/min and the ratio of radial partial air volume of a wall-attached ventilation duct to pressure air volume B was from 50% to 90%.The results show that the decrease of Q and the increase of B are both beneficial to the formation of a dust-control air curtain in the working face and the dust resistance capability is improved as well. For the 2-5082 fully mechanized working face and those working faces with similar conditions,an effective dust-control air curtain can be formed at the front section of the mining driver when Q is from 350 to 400 m3/min,B is from 80% to 90% and also Q is 450 m3/min,B is 90%.Among these parameters, the best dust-control effect can be achieved when Q is 350 m3/min,B is 90%.By field application, measuring data show that the simulation results are accurate. The dust with concentration higher than 50 mg/m3 is blocked within the space 10 m from working face and the environment at fully mechanized working area could be improved effectively.
