Abstract:The view of "quake-damage boundary" was proposed based on the cases where surface quakes were induced by the movement of thick and hard key strata near surface, and the laws of thick and hard key strata fracture and energy propagation. The particle vibration velocity was used as the evaluation index for quake damage to establish an evaluation method for surface damage.Prevention and control principles of surface damage induced by mine quakes were put forward according to the mechanism of strong mine quake that was induced by fracture of thick and hard key strata:1) to change the conditions of mine quake generation;2) to reduce the energy that was released in one mine quake. The results agreed well with the mining practice in Longwall Panel 16101 in a mine.
