Theoretical analysis on failure zone of surrounding rock in deep large-scale soft rock roadway
ZHANG Junwen
Abstract:Considering the roadway failure and stress-strain characteristics of typical soft rock, theoretical study was conducted to divide failure zones of deep surrounding rock roadway.A constitutive model with four segments corresponding to each failure zone, and a mechanical model for stress analysis were proposed. Also, stress solutions of different zones were derived, and expressions used for identifying each failure zone were obtained.Based on field study, the correctness and rationality of failure zones division were verified. The results show that failure zones of deep large-scale soft rock outward from the roadway are plastic flowing zone, strain softening zone, plastic hardening zone and elastic zone, all of which meet the Mohr-Coulomb criteria. The plastic zone range of surrounding rock decreases with the increase of support resistance, strain hardening coefficient, strain softening coefficient and internal friction, and goes up with the increase of expansion coefficient. The theoretical solution of each failure zone can effectively guide the design of roadway support for the long-term stability of deep large-scale soft surrounding rock.
