Method and application of simultaneous pillar-less coal mining and gas extraction by staged gob-side entry retaining
Abstract:Based on the typical feature of high gas coal seam with low permeability in deep mine, combined with 1 000 m depth mine engineering practice on simultaneous pillar-less coal mining and gas extraction in Huainan mining area, the improving Y model ventilation method, namely gob-side entry retaining by stages method was proposed. The prestressed anchor tech- nology for simultaneous coal and gas extraction was perfected. The engineering practice indica- ted that: pre-stressed anchorage technology could ensure stability in the rock surrounding the gob side entry and air return roadway, despite the strong dynamic pressures developed by the mining process. The roof subsidence was 144 mm and the rib displacement was 351 mm in the gob side entry up to the first stage end. The total maintenance time in the roadway was short- ened by 4/5 and deformation was reduced. Gas drainage from one hole was increased by up to 40 percent by suitable engineering during the advance of the mining face. This allowed simulta- neous coal mining and gas extraction in a deep mine.
