Experimental study of yield stress of gas-solid magnetically stabilized fluidized bed
Abstract:The gas-solid magnetically stabilized fluidized bed(MSFB) can efficiently beneficiate 6-1 mm fine coal. The yield stress of bed influences greatly the stability of MSFB and the motion of fine coal particles. The yield stress of MSFB was investigated with 0.074-0.045 mm magnetite powder as medium solids using a drawing-plate method. The experimental results show that the yield stress is a function of magnetic intensity, bed depth and superficial gas velocity. The yield stress increases with the increasing of magnetic intensity or bed depth, and decreases with the increasing of gas velocity. The magnetic intensity has a prominent effect on the yield stress, and the bed depth and gas velocity has a minor effect on it,respectively.Additionally, the mathematic model characterizing the relationship between the three factors and the yield stress was proposed. This offers a theoretical foundation for the beneficiation of 6-1 mm fine coal with MSFB.
