Seismic response analysis of a jointed precast concrete frame structure
Abstract:A nonlinear, transient dynamic analysis was performed as a pseudo-dynamic test of a jointed precast concrete frame structure. In these calculations beams and columns were simula ted by beam elements and a Takeda restoring force model. The beam to column connections were simulated by spring/clamp elements in nonlinear elastic restoring force model. A numeri- cal simulation employing series connected earthquake waves was used to estimate the effects from cumulative damage. The results show that the numerical simulation predicts values close to the test results: The differences between tests and calculations are less than 15.5~//oo. The effect of cumulative damage to the earthquake response is only distinct at the beginning of each test and becomes indistinguishable (less than 5 ~//00) when the earthquake waves increase to the peak.
