Abstract:The polyamide 1010 (PA1010) composite filled with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) was prepared by an injection moulding. The friction and wear performances of the composite sliding against GCr15 bearing steel were investigated on the M-2000 ring-block test rig, and their worn surface morphology was observed by a scanning electron microscope. The results show that the addition of PTFE obviously improves the tribological properties of PA1010. The optimal tribological properties are achieved while w(PTFE) of 25%. With the increasing of normal load and sliding speed, the friction coefficient decreased and the wear volume increased, respectively. The main wear of the composite is abrasive wear under the load of 200 N, and the adhesive wear and abrasive wear play the dominant roles together while the load of 400 N. When the sliding speed is 0.21 m/s, the plastic flow occurs owing to extrusion and the main wear is abrasion. As the speed increases to 0.84 m/s, the layer peeling is observed due to ther-mal and stress fatigue, and the wear changes to fatigue peeling accordingly.
