Model Test of Thermal Explosion Technology in Underground Coal Gasification

Abstract：The method of thermal explosion-temperature-control blasting(TCB) seepage-flow combustion(SFC) in underground coal gasification (UCG) was suggested, in light of the real problems of carrying out UCG in the dip, gently dip or nearly horizontal coal seams. The basic principle of thermal explosion was explained briefly. The test platform structure, blasting parameter design, measurement system, and cold state test were introduced, and the test results analysed. The results of the model test indicate that a large reaction surface necessary for the effective combustion gasification between gas and solid is provided by the temperature-control loose blasting, and a gasification condition of SFC is formed.Thereby, it proves the reasonableness and reliability of applying the technique of TCB to the process of UCG.
