Abstract:Sepsis is one of the important causes of death for critically ill patients, and sepsis-induced acute lung injury(ALI)is a common complication. The traditional view posits that pyroptosis, apoptosis, and necroptosis act independently. However, the PANoptosis proposed in 2019 integrates these three major cell death pathways and is uniformly regulated by the PANoptosome complex.Recent studies have shown that PANoptosis drives the collapse of the alveolar-capillary barrier, inflammatory storm and coagulation disorders in sepsis-induced ALI.This article aims to summarize the concept and mechanism of PANoptosis and its role in sepsis-induced ALI,with the expectation of providing potential therapeutic intervention measures for improving the prognosis of sepsis patients.
