Abstract:It provides a detailed analysis of localized and systemic infections resulting from injuries caused by various animal species, including cats, dogs, rodents, arthropods, and marine animals. The review also summarizes the main pathogens involved and their clinical manifestations. The results indicate that infections following animal injuries are primarily caused by bacteria, viruses, and parasites, with significant variations in infection patterns and transmission routes across animal types:bites from cats and dogs predominantly lead to bacterial infections;rodent injuries facilitate the transmission of viruses and parasites;arthropod bites spread multiple pathogens;and marine animal injuries are often complicated by toxins and opportunistic bacterial infections. The study emphasizes that animal-induced injuries represent a major global public health challenge, particularly in developing countries and rural areas.Future efforts should strengthen mechanistic research and enhance global cooperation in prevention and control.
