Abstract:Vital organ injury is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. At present, the therapeutic methods and curative effect of this disease are limited, and new therapeutic strategies need to be sought.A growing body of research has shown that dexmedetomidine(DEX)has protective effects on multiple organs due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic properties, while the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear.Ferroptosis is the main way of cell death during organ damage, and DEX has been proven to protect vital organs from the effects of this process. Therefore, this paper summarizes the pharmacokinetics of DEX,the mechanism of ferroptosis and the regulation of DEX for ferroptosis to protect vital organ,in order to provide new ideas and scientific basis for the development of clinical drugs for vital organ injury.
