Progress in the application of levosimendan in cardiac arrest

Abstract：Cardiac arrest(CA)critically impacts human health,and effective treatments are limited.Exploring new treatment methods has been a hotspot in the field of cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR).Levosimendan,a novel inotropic agent,enhances myocardial contractility through calcium sensitization without increasing myocardial oxygen consumption.It also improves organ perfusion and cellular metabolism by activating smooth muscle and mitochondrial ATP-sensitive potassium channel(KATP).Based on the mechanism of enhancing myocardial function,improving blood supply and reducing mitochondrial damage,this review will discuss the current advancements of levosimendan's use in CA treatment.
