The progress in the prevention and treatment of heat stroke

Abstract:Heat stroke(HS)is a clinical syndrome caused by exposure to high temperatures and(or)intense physical activity,characterized by rapid increase in core body temperature,central nervous system dysfunction and multiple organ failure.With the frequent occurrence of hot weather,HS as a serious heat-related disease,poses a serious threat to people's health.Medical institutions at all levels should implement prevention and control strategies that focus on prevention,rapid identification,centralized treatment and standardized follow-up in order to reduce the incidence,disability and mortality rates of HS.Based on the expert consensus published by the expert group of HS prevention and treatment of the people's liberation army in recent years,this article summarizes the progress of HS prevention and control according to domestic and international researches and proposes future research directions,aiming at improving the ability of our country to deal with febrile risks.
