Abstract:Heart failure is the final stage of various heart problems and has become a major public health concern because of its high mortality and disability rate. The size of the left ventricular ejection fraction is linked to the prognosis of heart failure which includes three categories:heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, heart failure with middle ejection fraction, and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.Recent studies suggest that heart failure with an ejection fraction≥65%may be different from above-mentioned three types,as it responds poorly to the medications and has a worse prognosis. This is considered a new kind of heart failure, known as heart failure with supranormal left ventricular ejection fraction. In this article,we will discuss the current researches on the concept, clinical features, pathophysiological mechanism, diagnosis and treatment of heart failure with supranormal left ventricular ejection fraction.
