Abstract:Sepsis is life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by a dysregulated host response to infection.Soluble suppression of tumorigenicity 2 (sST2) concentrations could be increased in inflammatory diseases. This paper reviews the latest progress on the relationship between ST2/IL-33 signaling and sepsis, and has drawn the Conclusion that both the ST2 and IL-33 concentrations are increased in sepsis patients.Serum IL-33 concentration will change with the progress of sepsis;its trend of change is valuable in predicting the outcome of sepsis. These may have some research value and prospects in diagnosing sepsis.
