The recent progress of nutrition support therapy

Abstract:Nutrition support therapy is an essential component of comprehensive treatment in critically ill patient, however, there are a multitude of confusions and misconceptions in actual practice which delay and limit the provision of optimal nutritional support. This article mainly makes a discussion about the improvements and changes of nutrition support therapy in critically ill patients in recent years, which includes the use of feeding protocol, the adequacy of nutrition provision, parenteral glutamine supplementation, management of gastrointestinal function dysfunction and blood glucose control.
