Research progress of mild therapeutic hypothermia in brain, heart and other organs

Abstract：Cardiac arrest patients may have ischemia reperfusion injury inevitably when they get cardiopulmonary resuscitation and mild therapeutic hypothermia has been suggest that it could prevent brain from the ischemia reperfusion injury.It also provides benefits on ischemic hearts and acute myocardial infarction.Whether mild therapeutic hypothermia benefits other organs is still unknown and the mechanism about the protection needs to be further investigated. This review summarizes the protection in brain, heart and other organs as well as the mechanism of mild therapeutic hypothermia.
