Abstract:Postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is one of the most common manifestations of orthostatic intolerance , with symptoms of cerebral hypoperfusion and excessive sympathoexcitation , including light -headedness , blurred vision , cognitive difficulties , and generalized weakness , palpitations, chest pain, and tremulousness, which can be relieved by recumbency .Some patients developed vasovagal syncope that is initiated by orthostatic stress . POTS has differential clinical characteristics and multiple interacting pathophysiologic mechanisms .Relationships of POTS and immune disorders, gene variations, neural reflex and modulation disorders , cognitive factors, are well studied. Managements of patients with POTS should be altered according to the subtypes and pathophysiology of POTS.
