Clinical epidemiological analysis of pelvic fractures

Abstract:Objective The pelvic fracture caused by accident, high-altitude has become one of the main death reasons for our young patients.In order to reduce the mortality of patients, improve the treatment program at present, we analyzed the epidemiological characteristics of patients with fracture in the Department of Orthopedics of our hospital.Methods The trauma patients data about pelvic fracture from April 2010 to December 2013 were reviewed in in our hospital by Student's t test, chi square test.Results A total of 716 people were enrolled, 64% of the patients were male, 71% patients between the ages of 20~49 years old.Traffic accident and falling were the main cause of injury, and the death rate was 37%.Pelvic fracture severity, shock, coma and head chest injury were associated with increased mortality.Conclusion The mortality of pelvic fracture patient is closely related with the degree of impaired fracture, coma, shock, head and chest injury.It is necessary to improve the treatment of these patients.
