The influencing factors of and the clinical assessment of the renal perfusion in septic AKI

Abstract:Acute kidney injury ( AKI) in the intensive care unit ( ICU) is commonly caused by severe sepsis or septic shock.It have been demonstrated that multiple mechanisms are involved in the AKI.The changes of renal hemodynamics have played the crucial role in the pathophysiology of septic AKI.The aim of this article is to review the factors that influence the renal perfusion in the septic AKI and the development of the way of the clinical assessment.Hopefully, it would provide a direct approach to understand the pathophysiology of AKI, and help the doctors to make an accurate diagnosis of the complications and subsequently make a rational treatment regimen for AKI patients.
