Changes of serum inflammatory markers and nerve function index in patients with spinal burst fracture and spinal cord injury
Abstract:Objective The present study aims to detect the changes of serum inflammatory markers and nerve function index in patients with spinal burst fracture combined with spinal cord injury . Methods From February 2013 to May 2014 in our hospital 94 cases admitted for treatment of spinal burst fracture with spinal cord injury were treated as the experimental group , 100 randomly selected cases of spinal fracture without spinal cord injury as control group .The two groups were examined the serum inflammatory markers and nerve function index .In order to observe the change of serum and nerve function, relevant indicators of experimental group patients before operation , postoperative 1, 3, 7, 14 d were compared with those in the control group .Results Serum IL-2 level (5.21 ±0.43)μg/mL of patients with spinal cord injury was significantly lower than the control group , while the serum IL -6 (8.32 ±0.69)pg/mL and IL-8 (8.79 ±0.75)pg/mL, TNF-α(1.25 ±0.12)ng/mL and IL-4 (224.72 ±20.95) ng/mL and IL -10 (19.58 ±1.99) pg/mL and IL -13 (6.32 ±0.67) ng/mL, TGF-β(886.73 ±78.72)pg/mL, NSE (18.77 ±1.77)μg/mL, NGF (386.76 ±28.48)pg/mL and S100B (0.52 ±0.10)ng/mL was significantly higher than those in the control group;and inflammatory factor changes significantly correlated to the nerve function index .Conclusion For the patients with spinal burst fracture , the serum inflammatory factors and neural functions are dynamically changed in those patients companied with spinal cord injury .Therefore , it is of great significance of this study by providing some scientific basis for the clinical diagnosis and treatment for this kind of disease .
