An epidemiological analysis in 1630 cases of acute intoxication
Abstract:Objective To explore epidemiological distribution and risk factors of acute intoxication prognosis , and to provide the basis of prevention and treatment for acute intoxication . Methods We collected 1630 cases of acute intoxication in our hospital from January lst 2002 to December 31st 2013, and investigated the epidemiological distribution , treatment cost and risk factors about acute intoxication prognosis .Results In 1630 cases, there was 28.7% poisoned by pesticide intoxication, and 21.4%by drug intoxication.Rodenticide intoxication existed the worst prognosis , but foods type of intoxication prognosis was the best .The incidence cases and cost of parquat intoxication showed increasing trend .The risk factors affecting the prognosis of acute intoxication included age (OR=1.017), hospital admission state (OR=1.583) and salvage times (OR=7.227), but hospital stay was the protective factors of prognosis .Conclusion Occupational distribution of acute poisoning is closely linked to local economic and social system .Too small or too large age indicates poor prognosis of acute poisoning .It should immediately be strengthen the supervision in poison /chemical production enterprises , poison use , marketing and other aspects .
