Abstract:Objective To investigate the early predictive value of serum calcium , C-reactive protein (CRP) and serum amylase like protein A (SAA) on severe acute pancreatitis (SAP).Methods One hundred and twenty patients with acute pancreatitis were divided into mild group ( MAP, 91 ca-ses), and severe group (SAP, 29 cases).Sixty-one healthy people in the same period were control group .Serum calcium , SAA and CRP levels were compared among the three groups .Results CRP and SAA levels in MAP and SAP group were significantly higher than those in control group , peak value ap-peared within 2 d and those in SAP group were significantly higher than that in MAP group .Serum calci-um levels in the two groups were significantly lower than those in control group ; and that in SAP group was significantly lower than that in MAP group .The combination sensitivity and specificity of the three indexes were 96.9% and 97.4%, respectively. Conclusion Determination of serum calcium , SAA and CRP has important clinical value for the evaluation of SAP .
