Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects of preoperative strengthening training on balance, hip function and quality of life after total hip arthroplasty(THA)in patients with osteonecrosis of the femoral head(ANFH).Methods 84 patients with ANFH between September 2020 and August 2023 were selected from our hospital. The patients were divided into a control group and an observation group of 42 cases each according to the random number table method. The control group did not use preoperative intensive training, and the observation group used preoperative intensive training. The patients'balance ability was assessed using the Time-Up-and-Go test(TUG)and the Four-Frame Shift Test(FSST);the patients'hip range of motion was assessed using the Hip Mobility;the patients'hip function and daily living ability were assessed using the Hip Disability and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score(HOOS),the Harris Hip Score(HHS),and the Barthel Index;and the patients'hip function and daily living ability were assessed using the Rehabilitation Self-Efficacy Scale(SES).The Self-Efficacy for Rehabilitation Scale(SER)and the Short Form Health Survey(SF-36)were used to assess patients'self-efficacy and quality of life. Results At 1 and 3 months after surgery, the TUG and FSST time of patients in the observation group were lower than those of patients in the control group(P<0.05);The flexion, extension, adduction and abduction angles of patients in the observation group were higher than those of patients in the control group(P<0.05);the HOOS,HHS and Barthel indexes of patients in the observation group were higher than those of patients in the control group(P<0.05);the SER and SF-36 scores of patients in the observation group were higher than those of patients in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions Preoperative strengthening training is effective in improving balance, hip range of motion and function, ability to perform activities of daily living,self-efficacy,and quality of life in patients with ANFH after THA.
