Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of hydraulic conveying percutaneous kyphoplasty on morphology and bone cement dispersion. Methods 127 patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures(OVCF)admitted to our hospital from September 2021 to August 2023 were divided into the observation group of 64 cases and control group of 63 cases. The observation group patients underwent hydraulic conveying vertebroplasty treatment, while the control group patients underwent traditional percutaneous kyphoplasty treatment.Amount injected and the leakage of bone cement in two groups were recorded.Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)and Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)were compared,as well as vertebral morphology;the diffusion of bone cement was compared between the two groups of patients. Results There was no statistically significant difference in the injection volume of bone cement between the two groups(P>0.05);the bone cement leakage rate in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(4.69%vs.17.46%),and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The VAS scores and ODI scores of the two groups were lower than those before surgery at 1 and 6 months after surgery, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);there was no statistically significant difference in VAS scores and ODI scores between the two groups at 1 and 6 months after surgery(P>0.05).At 1 and 6 months after surgery, the Cobb's angle of the posterior convexity in both groups was lower than that before surgery, while the height of the anterior vertebral body was higher than that before surgery, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);there was no statistically significant difference in the posterior Cobb's angle and anterior vertebral body height between the two groups(P>0.05).The good diffusion rate of bone cement in the observation group was better than that in the control group(79.69%vs.63.49%),and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions Hydraulic delivery vertebroplasty is comparable to traditional percutaneous kyphoplasty in improving pain, vertebral function, and limb morphology. However, hydraulic delivery vertebroplasty has better bone cement dispersion than traditional percutaneous kyphoplasty and is worth clinical reference.
